In 2023, a tragic coach bus accident caused schools to tighten travel protocols. Many coach operators were unable to meet the new requirements, reducing the pool of reliable vendors. The remaining companies were quickly booked, leaving districts scrambling to approve new vendors.
Many turned to online searches, where they were greeted by companies conveniently offering nationwide service, only to discover at the last minute that most of these “operators” were actually brokers, causing schools to lose control when they needed it most.
Last-minute changes forced districts to make difficult decisions: cancel the trip, disappointing students and risking important events, or proceed with operators who may not meet district requirements for safety, insurance, or driver standards?
Determined to help schools avoid these pitfalls, a former school administrator and school bus dispatcher developed Coach+.
